# Blues Midfielder Mason Mount Believes Things ‘Starting To Come Together’

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has spoken to the [club’s official website](https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2020/11/02/mount--we-re-clicking-in-attack-and-increasing-our-set-piece-thr?cardIndex=0-0) and has expressed his belief in the current Blues squad.

Mount has [continued to have an influence](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mason-mount/leistungsdaten/spieler/346483) in Frank Lampard’s squad among a host of [big-money summer signings](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-chelsea/transfers/verein/631), whom the 21-year-old believes are beginning to settle together, saying: ‘‘It feels like it’s starting to come together for us.’’

The England man has made[43 Premier League appearances](https://www.premierleague.com/players/14580/Mason-Mount/stats) for the Blues since completing a [successful loan spell under Lampard](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mason-mount/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/346483/plus/0?saison=&verein=22&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) at Derby County.

Mount spoke about the current squad following Saturday’s victory at Burnley, [saying](https://www.skysports.com/football/burnley-vs-chelsea/428898): ‘‘It was always going to take some time for us to all click as a team, but it felt like we were moving with each other, we knew where each other was going to go, and it kind of clicked.”

After enjoying [prolonged periods](https://www.premierleague.com/players/14580/Mason-Mount/stats?co=1&se=274) in the starting XI last term, Mount may have feared for his place this season, but he has stressed a sense of unity within the squad.

He said: ‘’There’s a lot of competition in the squad to try and get in the team, but we are all working hard, we are all a group, all a family, so all we want to do is win as many games as we can and try to keep pushing to be number one. That’s our goal.’’

It’s a credit to Mount’s improvement that the attacking midfielder has managed to remain an [integral part of the Blues plans](https://one-versus-one.com/en/players/mason-mount) following the signings made in attacking positions especially.

Away from the attackers beginning to combine nicely, the [much-maligned Chelsea defence](https://metro.co.uk/2020/09/26/martin-keown-calls-chelsea-defence-a-disgrace-and-tells-frank-lampard-how-to-fix-it-13328944/) seems to be finding its feet as three of the regular back four were named in the [Premier League team of the month](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league-october-team-kane-22944214) for October.
