# Fans React As Mason Mount Speaks Of ‘Special Memories’ With Declan Rice

Chelsea midfielder [Mason Mount](https://readchelsea.com/2020/11/02/mason-mount-praise-chelsea-togetherness/) has caused a reaction on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/SkySports/status/1329189892627304449) with his comments alongside fellow England goalscorer Declan Rice on Wednesday night.

The pair, who have played together for a number of years and are best friends, were interviewed alongside each other following [England’s 4-0 victory over Iceland](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/12016/12135789/england-4-0-iceland-phil-foden-jack-grealish-and-bukayo-saka-among-three-lions-stars-at-wembley) at Wembley.

Mount said: ”Special memories we are making together, we’ve had from a very young age, been together been best mates.”

The West Ham midfielder opened the scoring with his [first goal for his country](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/12016/12135789/england-4-0-iceland-phil-foden-jack-grealish-and-bukayo-saka-among-three-lions-stars-at-wembley) before Mount doubled the lead shortly after with his [second senior international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mason-mount/leistungsdaten/spieler/346483) strike.

Rice has been a [long-time target of Chelsea under Frank Lampard](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1359474/Chelsea-news-Declan-Rice-transfer-plan-West-Ham) and the [bond between the 21-year-olds](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/international/mason-mount-declan-rice-england-goals-b1729592.html) could play a part in possibly persuading Rice to return to Stamford Bridge, where he [played in the youth setup before](https://www.thefa.com/england/mens-seniors/stories/growing-up-declan-rice) heading to West Ham.

Here’s how these Blues fans reacted to seeing Mount and Rice alongside one another, with one clear wish in mind:
