# Three Premier League Clubs Keen On Conor Gallagher

Chelsea midfielder [Conor Gallagher](https://readchelsea.com/2020/08/06/conor-gallagher-wanted-by-leeds-united/) has been linked with a move to a host of Premier League clubs, as reported by [Sunderland Echo](https://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/newcastle-united-crystal-palace-and-leeds-united-eye-january-move-young-chelsea-star-3039129?__hstc=102320350.7cd45503f6e226b476e743dccd0e49bf.1605710631845.1605710631845.1605710631845.1&__hssc=102320350.1.1605710631846&__hsfp=1596372195).

After being [linked with plenty of potential suitors](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8710149/West-Brom-Leeds-intensify-loan-deal-Chelsea-midfielder-Conor-Gallagher.html) during the summer, the 20-year-old is [currently on loan at West Brom](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11661/12074173/west-brom-loan-for-chelsea-midfielder-connor-gallagher-basically-done-says-slaven-bilic) but has been attracting plenty of interest from clubs willing to sign the England under-21 international on a permanent basis.

Newcastle, [Leeds](https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/leeds-united-transfer-connor-gallagher-19299341) and Crystal Palace are all credited with a desire to sign Gallagher, who has made [five appearances in all competitions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/conor-gallagher/leistungsdaten/spieler/488362) this term since arriving at The Hawthorns.

The youngster was recently [touted as a future star](https://metro.co.uk/2020/11/12/chelsea-midfielder-conor-gallagher-tipped-to-become-a-top-player-by-west-brom-captain-13583591/) by West Brom captain Jake Livermore, who described him as having “bags of energy” and has tipped him to “become a top, top player”. However, it remains to be seen whether he can cut it at Stamford Bridge.

Gallagher has only [appeared in one first team matchday squad](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/conor-gallagher/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/488362/plus/0?saison=&verein=631&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=)for the Blues, although the youngster [recently revealed](https://www.football.london/chelsea-fc/chelsea-lampard-conor-gallagher-news-19283192) that Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has been keeping an eye on his progress in the Midlands.

The bulk of Gallagher’s appearances for his parent club have come for the under-18 side, where he has been employed in [numerous positions](https://footballbh.net/2020/04/04/conor-gallagher-201920-scout-report-tactical-analysis-tactics/) across the midfield, [scoring 12 goals in 53 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/conor-gallagher/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/488362/plus/0?saison=&verein=6918&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=).

### READ CHELSEA VERDICT

Having been [nurtured through the academy setup](https://www.chelseafc.com/en/teams/academy/conor-gallagher) at Stamford Bridge, the club may be reluctant to see ‘one of their own’ leave so readily.

However, with a [vast array of central midfielders](https://www.premierleague.com/clubs/4/Chelsea/squad) afforded to Lampard at the moment – including another youngster Billy Gilmour who, unlike Gallagher, [has made an impact on the Blues’ first team](https://www.chelseafc.com/en/videos/v/2020/03/08/_-billy-gilmour-wins-man-of-the-match-again-as-chelsea-s-thrash--Y1ZnU5ajE6V2ScPdpBepjQSSTPs0rMzc) – it’s unlikely the England youth player will break through in west London any time soon.

Should Gallagher enjoy a positive Premier League campaign, it may suit both parties to allow the player to move on at the end of the season, perhaps with a buyback clause to allow Chelsea to bring him back home if they wish to do so further down the line.
