# Chelsea interested in Inter Milan’s Achraf Hakimi

[Chelsea](https://readchelsea.com/2021/02/01/chelsea-monitoring-ousmane-dembele-contract-situation/) are reportedly interested in Inter Milan winger [Achraf Hakimi](https://readarsenal.com/2020/04/06/these-arsenal-fans-react-to-hakimi-transfer-link/) and could make a summer move for him, according to [The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/2356922/2021/02/01/deadline-day-transfers-that-could-happen-today-and-some-for-the-summer/).

The Blues’ cause could be helped by the [ongoing pandemic-induced financial problems within football](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/english-premier-league/story/4170092/football-must-face-up-to-stark-realities-of-financial-future-after-covid-19-crisis), with the San Siro giants in particular suffering the effects.

The 22-year-old right-sided player [joined the Serie A side from Real Madrid](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53268923)for £36m last July and has [impressed](https://www.sofascore.com/player/hakimi-achraf/814594) during his time at the San Siro, but [The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/2356922/2021/02/01/deadline-day-transfers-that-could-happen-today-and-some-for-the-summer/)‘s report claims that he would be ‘open’ to a move to the Premier League.

Having [assisted former Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/spielbericht/index/spielbericht/3433198) on his Serie A debut, Hakimi has gone from strength to strength with Inter, who are amongst the favourites to win the league [according to the bookies](https://casinostugan.se/),  so far contributing [six goals and four assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/achraf-hakimi/leistungsdaten/spieler/398073) in 20 league appearances.

Despite his tender age, the former Real Madrid ace has already amassed [31 caps for Morocco](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/achraf-hakimi/nationalmannschaft/spieler/398073/verein_id/3575) and has [earned comparisons](https://sport.sky.de/fussball/artikel/transfer-news-keine-entscheidung-bei-sancho-bvb-mit-plan-b-hoffnung-bei-hakimi/11976100/33895) to [Premier League record-breaker](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/403093-trent-alexander-arnold-breaks-his-own-premier-league-assist-record) Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Signing Hakimi would make perfect sense for Chelsea, especially with Thomas Tuchel now at the helm. The German is known to [tinker with his formation](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/tactics-addict-tuchel-ideal-lampard-replacement-chelsea/zq0q3guvj8p1tfmgl9sb4xhh), occasionally mid-match, making the 22-year-old the perfect candidate for the Blues.

Capable of playing as a [right midfielder, right-back or wing-back](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/achraf-hakimi/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/398073), the Moroccan offers a [near-complete package](https://www.bundesliga.com/en/bundesliga/news/achraf-hakimi-improved-in-every-area-at-borussia-dortmund-real-madrid-9493) positionally.

With a perceived market value of £45m according to [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/achraf-hakimi/marktwertverlauf/spieler/398073), this would likely still be a costly deal regardless of financial issues in Milan. However, with Cesar Azpilicueta in the twilight of his career at Stamford Bridge, Hakimi could be the ideal successor to the Spaniard.
