# Summer target Wilfried Zaha in talks to pen new deal with Crystal Palace

**Reports have emerged that suggest Wilfried Zaha is in talks over a new deal at Selhurst Park.**

The Ivory Coast ace sees his [contract](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wilfried-zaha/profil/spieler/145988) with Crystal Palace expire at the end of the season and [rumours surfaced](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11154489/Chelsea-consider-late-bid-Crystal-Palace-star-Wilfried-Zaha.html) late last month suggesting that Chelsea may look to swoop for the [£34.2m-rated](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wilfried-zaha/marktwertverlauf/spieler/145988) forward.

Now [The Sun](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/19739249/crystal-palace-wilfried-zaha-contract-arsenal-transfer/) have claimed that Palace have offered Zaha fresh terms in order to fend off interest from elsewhere, with the 29-year-old free to speak with other clubs in January about a free transfer.

The same source suggests that it is unknown whether or not the Eagles’ talisman will accept the approach and with a change in the dugout, it remains to be seen if Chelsea are still interested.

However, having scored [14 goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wilfried-zaha/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/145988) in the Premier League last term, nine of which came in the [final 16 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wilfried-zaha/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/145988/plus/0?saison=2021&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) following the Africa Cup of Nations, the [28-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wilfried-zaha/nationalmannschaft/spieler/145988/verein_id/3591) Ivory Coast international would be a very worthwhile option for the Blues and wouldn’t cost a penny.

Zaha has made an explosive start to the 2022/23 season as well with [four goals in five games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wilfried-zaha/leistungsdaten/spieler/145988), one more than Chelsea’s highest scorer Raheem Sterling who is the only player at Stamford Bridge to score at least twice in this campaign.

After a failed move to Manchester United the forward himself has [said](https://theface.com/life/wilfried-zaha-crystal-palace-football-interview-2021-louis-vuitton-chanel-a-cold-wall) before that he feels he could have “another shot at the top teams” and that opportunity could well come in west London if he decides to reject a renewal at SE 25.
