# Chelsea can wrap up deal for £53M star “whenever they want”

Chelsea are in cruise control when it comes to the impending transfer of RB Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku.

That’s according to journalist [Paul Brown](https://www.givemesport.com/88082678-chelsea-can-close-53m-deal-whenever-they-want-at-stamford-bridge), who has issued a calming update to the Chelsea faithful, who were worried that the deal had fallen through due to a suspiciously quiet spell over the last few weeks.

Brown claims that there is nothing to worry about regarding to deal for the 25-year-old, with the club in a powerful position that means they can finalise the deal “pretty much when they want to.”

Speaking to [GIVEMESPORT](https://www.givemesport.com/88082678-chelsea-can-close-53m-deal-whenever-they-want-at-stamford-bridge), Brown said: *“I don’t think they have any reason to worry about Nkunku. That one seems to have been something that they can close pretty much when they want to, and that will help.”*

**Super-Boehly**

The powers of the club have seemingly risen since Todd Boehly became co-owner, with the Blues’ next big purchase [looking almost certainly](https://theathletic.com/3649182/2022/10/03/ornstein-nkunku-foden-wilson-arsenal/?source=emp_shared_article) like France international Nkunku.

Money talks, but you cannot argue that Boehly’s signings have been astute so far, with the “top talents” strategy a move that could pay off dividends in the near future.

The signing of Nkunku is equally as astute and emphasises Chelsea’s level of pulling power, and ambition by wrapping up a deal for a [£52million](https://theathletic.com/3649182/2022/10/03/ornstein-nkunku-foden-wilson-arsenal/?source=emp_shared_article) star so early on in order to avoid a bidding war.

The club should continue to operate in this manner with their early efforts almost certain to bag them a star who has scored [12 goals](https://www.fotmob.com/players/704523/christopher-nkunku) in 15 Bundesliga appearances this season.

Chelsea supporters have nothing to worry about as this deal is as good as done, according to the latest update from Brown.
