# Everton Sign Winger Tyrique George From Chelsea On Permanent Deal

**Tyrique George has completed a permanent move from Chelsea to Everton, ending his long association with the club he joined as an under-eight.**

[Chelsea confirmed](https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/article/tyrique-george-departs-chelsea-for-everton) the transfer on Monday. The club said George leaves Cobham having won two trophies and made 37 senior appearances.

The 20-year-old became a regular for Chelsea’s under-18s and under-21s during the 2023/24 season. He helped the under-18s win the Premier League South title and later earned his place around the first-team squad.

George made his senior Chelsea debut in the UEFA Conference League qualifier against Servette. He then scored three goals during the following campaign and became a regular for England Under-21s.

## Everton Move Ends Cobham Pathway

George joined Everton on loan in January, and that move has now become permanent. [Chelsea’s loan announcement](https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/article/tyrique-george-completes-loan-switch-everton) at the time said he had scored three goals in 11 Chelsea appearances during the first half of last season.

[Standard Sport reported](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/tyrique-george-chelsea-fc-everton-transfer-latest-b1288792.html) that Everton agreed a deal worth up to £24m, with Chelsea set to receive £18m plus add-ons. The report also said Chelsea negotiated a 15 per cent sell-on clause.

For Chelsea, the move brings another academy-profit decision. George had a clear Cobham story, but his first-team pathway looked difficult in a crowded attacking group.

[Read Chelsea has already covered](https://readchelsea.com/2026/07/04/tyrique-george-everton-chelsea-transfer-agreement/) why Everton’s move placed Chelsea’s academy model back under scrutiny. The permanent transfer now gives George a clearer route to senior football.

Chelsea lose a homegrown player with promise. They also secure a strong fee for a winger who needed a defined next step.
