# Chelsea open door to shock Tottenham move for Tosin

**Chelsea could sanction a surprise late move for [Tosin Adarabioyo](https://readchelsea.com/tag/tosin-adarabioyo/) after Tottenham began working on a deal to sign the defender before the transfer window closes.**

The Blues are prepared to let Tosin leave Stamford Bridge, with his future becoming one of Chelsea’s major outstanding issues late in the window.

[Fabrizio Romano reports that Tottenham are now working on a deal for the 28-year-old](https://tg.me/tyngw26478heroe146h/38543?utm_source=chatgpt.com), describing a move as a concrete possibility following discussions on Monday. Romano has separately confirmed that Chelsea are open to Tosin’s departure and talks over an exit are underway.

## Tottenham work on Tosin Chelsea deal

A Tottenham move is not yet guaranteed.

Romano says the transfer could depend on **Kevin Danso leaving Spurs**, meaning further movement may be required before negotiations with Chelsea can accelerate.

That situation is developing too.

[TalkSPORT reports that Danso has agreed personal terms with Sunderland](https://talksport.com/football/4545527/tottenham-reject-bid-sunderland-transfer-kevin-danso/?utm_source=chatgpt.com), although Tottenham previously rejected a loan proposal and would prefer a permanent departure.

Chelsea’s willingness to listen to proposals for Tosin is not entirely new.

ReadChelsea previously reported that [Marseille had stepped up their pursuit after Chelsea opened the door to an exit](https://readchelsea.com/2026/08/14/marseille-step-up-tosin-move-as-chelsea-open-door-to-exit/?utm_source=chatgpt.com), before [further signs emerged that a departure was becoming increasingly possible](https://readchelsea.com/2026/08/17/chelsea-make-telling-tosin-change-as-marseille-move-gathers-pace/?utm_source=chatgpt.com).

Tottenham have now emerged as a potentially dramatic Premier League destination.

There is **no agreement between Chelsea and Spurs yet**, and Danso’s future remains an important part of the equation.

But with Tottenham actively working on the transfer and Chelsea prepared to sell, Tosin’s Stamford Bridge future could change quickly.
