AC Milan officials attended Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Premier League champions Leicester to make an enquiry about Cesc Fabregas.

As reported by the Evening Standard, the Italian club’s chief executive and sporting director Marco Fassone and Massimiliano Mirabelli were  at Stamford Bridge in a bid to make contacts, but were also casting an eye over a possible deal for the Spaniard.

Unfortunately for them, Fabregas wasn’t named in the match day squad for the victory, he was ruled out of the game with a minor injury.

Fabregas has failed to stake a claim in the current Chelsea squad, with claims that he is no longer part of Antonio Conte’s plans.

Milan are on the hunt for a new midfielder after Ricardo Montolivo has been sidelined with a serious knee injury.

The fallen Italian giants are set to be backed by new Chinese investment, like rivals Inter Milan, and are putting plans in place to secure high-profile transfers.
