Antonio Conte is desperate to add another wing-back to his squad this summer but he may be about to miss out on one of his top targets this summer.
Despite interest from both Chelsea and Manchester United, Barcelona are unwilling to let versatile midfielder Sergi Roberto leave the club this summer, according to ESPNFC sources.
Manchester United had a bid knocked back for Roberto earlier this month and despite the player having a relatively modest €40m release clause in his contract, Barcelona believe that he wants to stay at the Nou Camp and will no seek a move away.
Roberto is primarily a midfielder but has impressed at right-back in recent times for Barcelona given the injury to Aleix Vidal.
Chelsea were hoping to bring him in to compete with Victor Moses for the right wing-back position but it appears their hopes of signing the Spaniard are fading fast.
The Blues have been linked with Tottenham’s Danny Rose and Valencia’s Joao Cancelo as Conte broadens his search for a wing-back.
