The last time these two sides met at The Hawthorns, Chelsea were already Premier League champions.
This time, however, it looks a much bleaker picture for the Blues after their worst start to a season since 1998.
Following a dismal 3-0 defeat at Manchester City last Sunday, and a shaky 2-2 draw with Swansea on the opening day, Chelsea are in 16th with just one point, and without a win in 90 minutes in their last six matches (including pre-season).
Similarly, West Brom are seeking their first league win of the season after also suffering a 3-0 defeat against City, followed by a 0-0 draw with newly promoted Watford.
The Baggies are yet to score a Premier League goal this season, and they failed to get a single shot on target against Watford, with Berahino missing a golden chance late on.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have looked incredibly nervous at the back in their opening fixtures. Five goals conceded in just two matches is a stark contrast to how the Blues defended last season, with only 32 goals conceded in 38 league matches.
However West Brom’s hopes of breaking their duck for this campaign will be boosted by the fact that they have outscored Chelsea in their last six Premier League meetings, 8-7, despite the fact the Blues are unbeaten in three of their last four against The Baggies.
Two Saido Berahino goals and a venomous strike from Chris Brunt gave West Brom a 3-0 victory against Chelsea in the penultimate game of last season, and a similar result this season would add to Chelsea’s woes.
With Thibaut Courtois will return between the sticks, as Mourinho confirmed during his press conference.
Oscar is still an injury doubt after missing the game against City, whilst Victor Moses is ruled out.
Meanwhile, Ben Foster is still recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury for West Brom and Serge Gnabry is lacking match fitness.
