Bournemouth vs Chelsea: Tactical analysis

This weekend, Chelsea continue their march to the Premier League title, with an away fixture to Bournemouth on Saturday evening.

The Blues bounced back from their 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace, to beat Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City with the same scoreline at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday. An Eden Hazard double, either side of a Sergio Aguero equaliser, was enough to keep Chelsea seven points ahead of closest challengers Tottenham.

Saturday’s visitors were also in midweek action, playing top-four hopefuls Liverpool. Eddie Howe’s side picked up a credible point at Anfield, drawing 2-2. This draw moved the Cherries up to 13th place, with the tiny threat of relegation seemingly gone.

The two sides have already met once this season, with Chelsea winning 3-0 at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day. Goals from Pedro and Hazard, as well as an own goal by Steve Cook, gave Chelsea an easy three points.

Ahead of Chelsea’s fixture against Bournemouth on Saturday evening, we take a look at the Cherries and see what threats they can post to Antonio Conte’s side.
