Having lifted a fifth Premier League title against Sunderland, Chelsea must now look forward to an FA Cup final that could see John Terry complete his second domestic double during a glittering career at the club.
Michy Batshuayi got on the score sheet for the third game running as he netted twice late on in a 5-1 demolition of relegation fodder Sunderland, and the Belgian has now scored five Premier League goals despite only starting once all season.
The usual faces also added to the celebrations as Eden Hazard, Pedro and Willian all scored on the final day of the campaign to round off a record breaking 30th Premier League win this season for Chelsea.
Arsenal meanwhile made sure that this season’s late Champions League resurgence went unhitched, but their five-game winning run was not enough to secure a coveted Champions League spot, as Liverpool beat Middlesbrough 3-0.
Although Arsenal beat Everton 3-1, they suffered a series of injuries and suspensions as Laurent Koscielny picked up a red card while Gabriel Paulista suffered an injury.
As well as Koscielny and Gabriel, Arsenal are also set to be without Shkodran Mustafi and Kieran Gibbs, piling on even more pressure to the Gunners’ depleted defensive line – they are however set to be assessed ahead of kick-off and could yet play a part.
Alexis Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are also doubts for the game and will take late fitness tests but are likely to start.
Chelsea don’t have any injury worries ahead of the game, a key facet of the club’s success this season.
