English football is about to change completely. That is because Pep Guardiola seems to have decided that the time has come to step away. The news broke just a few minutes back and an official announcement is expected over the weekend, if not before that. With Manchester City still in a title race, perhaps that […]
With Xabi Alonso arriving, the winds of change could be blowing at Chelsea this summer. There have been conflicting suggestions about the club’s plans for the transfer window. Some have claimed that the Spaniard rates the squad highly and just wants to bring in two to three experienced players to galvanise. On the other hand, […]
Xabi Alonso has been given the title of ‘manager’ rather than ‘head coach’ to make it clear that he has more of a say on football matters than his predecessors. It is very much a matter of optics. And BlueCo might have done it to show the supporters that they were ringing in the changes […]
How many years has the Victor Osimhen to Chelsea saga gone on for? It definitely goes back to his time at Napoli, when he was first establishing himself as one of the brightest strikers in European football. The Nigerian international was believed to hold a soft spot for the Blues as well, which could help […]
With Xabi Alonso coming in, there is suddenly a ton of excitement around Chelsea. But then, a manager is only as good as his players. And the current squad might not be good enough for the Spaniard to attain his objectives at Stamford Bridge. Then again, you never know. He did take on a Bayer […]
The decision to appoint Xabi Alonso as the next manager of the club has been met with a lot of excitement from the fans. Understandably so. He was the popular pick for most supporters. And to be honest, I feel like he was the standout one as well. With all due respect to the likes […]
Joao Pedro has done a fantastic job since joining Chelsea. He has scored 23 goals and provided nine assists for the Blues so far. An excellent return, especially in what has been a poor season for the Blues in front of goal. That being said, the club do need more goalscorers. Just look at the […]
‘Manager’ is a word that continues to be used interchangeably with head coach by football fans across the world. Let’s be honest, nobody really uses the latter. Yet, the role has transformed a lot over the past few decades. And Chelsea supporters will know that better than most. One complaint that fans have had for […]
Chelsea finally seem to be looking towards a brighter future. They might have lost the FA Cup final this weekend but the mood is a lot lighter amongst the fans than you would expect on the back of such a defeat, which confirmed they will finish the campaign trophyless again. That is because the Blues […]
Xabi Alonso’s appointment has lifted the mood of the Chelsea fans and the FA Cup final defeat is largely forgotten already. The reality is, most were worried about the long-term future of the club rather than the result of that Wembley game. Even if the Blues had won, this season would have gone down as […]
Xabi Alonso has been appointed the new manager of Chelsea. It is official now, no longer speculation. To be honest, BlueCo deserve more credit for well they have done with this move. Most fans had thought it was improbable for the Spaniard to want to join. The Blues do not have Champions League football to offer, […]
Defence might be a bigger area of focus for Xabi Alonso than most people realise. When you think about the Spanish midfielder, you remember the elegant maestro who had controlled the middle of the park for Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Spain. He did so quite successfully as well, winning major trophies at both […]
