Today Chelsea legend Frank Lampard announced he would be ending what has been a glittering 21-year long career in football at the highest level.
A career that spanned 1019 games in which he scored a remarkable 302 goals from central midfield. He also became England’s 8th most capped player of all time on 105 appearances. He is regarded by many as having been Chelsea’s greatest ever player. It is unlikely there will be another player like Lampard, an absolute professional, a true gentleman and a prolific goalscorer.
During his time at Stamford Bridge, Super Frank won it all. He left Chelsea with three Premier League titles, four FA Cup titles, two League Cup titles, two Community Shields, the Champions League and the Europa League. Not to mention he finished runner-up to Ronaldinho in the 2005 World Player of the Year awards.
As he announces he will be hanging up his boots today, we look back at some of his greatest moments in Chelsea blue.
