Chelsea have offered N’Golo Knateé to Spanish giants Real Madrid in order to sign Marco Asensio, according to Spanish sources.
The Blues are said to be desperate to sign Asensio, who is considered to be one of the best young players in world football right now, and Spanish outlet Don Balon claim, as reported by the Daily Star, that Kanté may be used as a makeweight.
Chelsea have had a disappointing campaign in trying to retain their Premier League title, and now look likely to finish outside of the Champions League spots.
Don Balon claim that club owner Roman Abramovich wants to build a team around Asensio going forward and in order to do that, the Russian oligarch is prepared to let former Leicester City title-winning engine man Kanté leave Stamford Bridge.
This, despite Kanté picking up Chelsea’s Player of the Season Award at their annual end of season ceremony this week, as voted for by the fans.
