Chelsea have held talks with highly coveted French defender Clément Lenglet, according to GFFN.

The 22-year old Sevilla centre-back has been linked with a number of top clubs in recent weeks. As well as Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid have both made enquiries in the last few days, while Barcelona and Manchester United are also in regular contact with Lenglet’s representatives.

However the Blues appear to have entered the race, with GFFN reporting that Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia held a meeting with Lenglet’s representatives this morning.

Lenglet signed for Sevilla last January from Nancy in his native France, and has impressed in La Liga, making over 50 appearances in all competitions for the club last season, scoring on four occasions.

Sevilla only paid €5million for the defender, but after his 18 months in Spain so far, he will surely demand a much higher fee if he does secure a summer switch.
