Atlético Madrid are interested in signing Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud on a season-long loan, with the option to buy, according to reports.
The World Cup winning forward only joined the Blues in January, but is apparently wanted by the Spanish side.
That is according to GFFN, who cite Gianluca di Marzio, who claims that Chelsea would consider doing a deal if the loan move came with an obligation to buy, rather than an option.
New boss Maurizio Sarri has yet to make his mark on his new club, except for the sole signing of Jorginho, and it isn’t yet clear whether he sees the Frenchman as a big part of his plans
Despite his recent switch, the 31-year old scored five times in 18 appearances for the Blues last season.
