Chelsea have a chance to prove that they’re genuine contenders again

With so much upheaval in the summer, many observers thought Chelsea would struggle early on in the season but that has not been the case.

Maurizio Sarri’s men have won all four of their opening Premier League games, defeating Huddersfield Town, Arsenal, Newcastle United and most recently, Bournemouth, and whilst their performances haven’t always been fluent and faultless, the results have been perfect.

In hindsight, it shouldn’t really be a shock that the Blues have started well, after all, Chelsea’s players are used to upheaval and change and as such, it will not have been such a shock for them.

The players have taken to Sarri’s system and style of play very quickly and the likes of Eden Hazard have continued to flourish in spite of the late summer changes.

The task for Chelsea is to continue their good form after the international break and there’s no reason to see why they shouldn’t be able to do just that as their next two games come against two sides who have yet to win a league match this season.

The Blues host Cardiff then travel to West Ham and football betting tips will show that Sarri’s side will be big favourites to win both games and if they are able to secure two more victories, that would take them onto 18 points from six games and even at this early stage of the season, that would make them genuine title contenders.

Chelsea were able to win the Premier League title in Antonio Conte’s first season as the club’s manager, which was an incredible achievement. If they are able to repeat that feat in Sarri’s first year in charge of the club, then it would likely be the most incredible title win in the club’s illustrious history, given how much turmoil was surrounding Chelsea earlier in the summer.
