Tomas Kalas undergoes successful surgery

Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas has had successful surgery after fracturing his jaw in two places whilst on loan at Bristol City.

The Czech defender has been sent out on loan by Chelsea on several occasions, spending last season at Fulham.

However, the defender sustained an injury on Saturday as Bristol City lost to Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium.

Kalas has therefore undergone surgery on his fractured jaw, and will be out for over six weeks for the Robins.

The defender joined the Robins over the Summer, after spells with Fulham and Middlesbrough. Kalas has been promoted twice from the Championship, with Fulham last year and with Middlesbrough in 2015.
