Hazard claims Chelsea lost ‘best goalkeeper in the world’ this summer

Eden Hazard claims that Chelsea ‘lost the best goalkeeper in the world’ this summer, although he did praise Kepa Arrizabalaga as a ‘top player’.

Chelsea have begun the new season in fine form under new boss Maurizio Sarri, and early signs indicate that the Blues could well battle with Manchester City and Liverpool for the Premier League title this term.

As well as Kepa, Sarri also signed Jorginho from Napoli and Mateo Kovačić from Real Madrid on a season-long loan, drastically improving the quality of the club’s squad.

While Chelsea’s star man Hazard accepted that the club did bring in an abundance of new talented players this summer, he also accepted that the club lost a huge star in Thibaut Courtois, who signed for Real Madrid in a deal worth around £35million.

Talking to SportBible, Hazard said:

They are top players for sure and Kepa, the goalkeeper – he is a fantastic young goalkeeper with a lot of quality.

When you bring this kind of guy into the team, the team is better for sure.

We lost the best goalkeeper in the world but I think the team is better this year than last season and we can see it every weekend.
