Maurizio Sarri’s men have a tricky run of fixtures when club football returns after the international break.
A busy end to the month will see Chelsea compete in the Premier League, Europa League and the Carabao Cup in the space of just under two weeks.
When the Premier League returns, Chelsea welcome Manchester United to Stamford Bridge as they look to continue their fine start to the season.
While attention may be turning to international football, we’ve gone ahead and predicted the next five Chelsea results. Do you agree?
Manchester United (H)
The international break may have come at a good time for this fixture.
United pulled off a much-needed victory against Newcastle prior to the break, coming from behind to win 3-2 in the last minute.
It restored some of the feel-good factor at the club, but there will be a lengthy break between the game at Stamford Bridge.
This could work in Chelsea’s favour, but it would be fair to expect a tense game.
Mourinho is likely to try and do a job on Eden Hazard, so if he can keep him quiet, it will be tough for Chelsea.
Match result: Draw, 1-1
BATE (H)
Chelsea’s previous Europa League meeting against MOL Vidi was too close for comfort.
Maurizio Sarri’s men narrowly edged it and the Italian will not be in the mood to play with fire again.
A win against BATE would all-but wrap up top spot in the group and Sarri will be keen to do just that.
Match result: Win, 3-0
Burnley (A)
A potential banana-skin for Chelsea, but the Blues will be hoping to take advantage of Burnley’s poor form this season.
A morale-boosting victory against the Blues would certainly be a good way to kick-start their season, but Sarri will be well aware of this as shown by his reluctance to rotate too much in the Premier League.
The reality is that Burnley are not quite at the same level they were last season, partly down to their own success. However, they will improve and it will not be easy for Sarri, but they may have too much for Burnley.
Match result: Win 1-0.
Derby County (H)
Frank Lampard’s Derby County have been brilliant in the Carabao Cup so far this season.
The game at Stamford Bridge is certainly going to be an emotional evening for everyone involved.
However, Chelsea have taken the decision not to allow both Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori to play, which will have big implications for the Rams.
Both were key to their success against Manchester United in the previous round.
Lampard’s Derby side like to attack, they play expansive football and without two key players, they could be caught out.
Match result: Win, 2-1.
Crystal Palace (H)
With just one win in their last five, Palace could present another potential banana skin fixture for the Blues.
However, injuries have got the better of the club this season and the Eagles are struggling to find the back of the net.
While Chelsea are still ropey at the back, they should be able to deal with the limited threats posed by Palace.
