Former Chelsea midfielder Dennis Wise believes that Eden Hazard will cost Real Madrid over £200million, if they do decide to pursue a deal.
The 27-year old Belgian has frequently been linked with a move to the Spanish capital in the last few years, and some had assumed he would follow former teammate and compatriot Thibaut Courtois to the Santiago Bernabeu last summer.
However, Hazard stayed at Stamford Bridge, and his impressive early season form has reignite talk of a move to become the latest Galatico either in January or next summer.
If he does move, he will cost more than the £198million Neymar fetched Barcelona when he joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, according to Wise.
Talking exclusively to Express Sport, Wise explained why Hazard would demand such a fee, saying:
He’s worth more than anyone.
I think he’s better than Neymar – I really do.
What he’s done in the Premier League – the top league in the world – is prove it.
I think he’s a top-class player and I do think he’s better than Neymar.
I just want him to edge in front of the likes of Lionel Messi, that’s the one you want to get yourself in front of.
And, of course, what Cristiano Ronaldo has done in football. Those are the two you want to push above.
