Chelsea January target Mauro Icardi is close to agreeing a new deal with Inter Milan, according to reports.
The Seria A side’s captain was considered by the Blues to be an ideal replacement for Álvaro Morata, however it appears that he could soon put pen to paper on a new long-term contract.
A report from Italian source Tuttosport, as cited by Calciomercato, claim that the Nerazzurri are in negotiations with both Icardi and centre-half Milan Škriniar over new deals.

The report claims that while the deals are not yet finalised, both players are firmly considered not on the market.
Inter have rejected offers for Icardi in the past, and are expected to do so again until the 25-year old Argentina international pens a new deal in January.
