Conte refuses to meet with Chelsea of to discuss settlement

Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is reportedly refusing to meet Chelsea to discuss out of court settlements, according to reports.

Football Italia report that Conte is refusing to meet with Chelsea to discuss a settlement, after being sacked after the end of last season.

Conte argues that he should be paid the one year remaining on his contract,  however, Chelsea argued just cause, citing the manager’s treatment of Diego Costa and his criticism of the board.

Sky Sports News report that a meeting was proposed to settle the dispute, but Conte refused to attend.

Conte’s lawyers are working on one case for an employment tribunal and then another for the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

As well as seeking damages, Conte is seeking his entire years salary, taking his total claim to around €26m.
