Chelsea transfer ban: Five youth players that could step up to the plate

With investigations ongoing about Chelsea’s youth transfer dealings, there is speculation that the Blues could find themselves facing a two-year transfer ban.

If this were the case, the only way Chelsea could add new blood to the squad would be through the youth academy. Fortunately for Maurizio Sarri, he has a wealth of choice in that regard.

It is yet to be seen if Chelsea’s transfer ban would operate at a senior or acedemy level.

Chelsea’s Under-18 side has won six of the last seven FA Youth Cups, and the academy at Cobham is regarded as one of the finest in the country, and indeed Europe.

If the worst should happen and FIFA were to ban Chelsea from making any signings for the next two years, there are definitely a few gems in the ranks that might be capable of making the step up.
