Chelsea are confident that N’Golo Kante will sign a contract extension with the club within the next few months, according to a report from Simon Johnson of the Evening Standard.
Kante, who has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, is under contract until 2021 and earns £150,000-a-week, but Chelsea want to reward him for his good form by giving him a huge salary increase and adding extra years onto his deal.
Johnson reports that Kante finally looks set to sign a deal worth £290,000-a-week, months after the Blues first opened talks about a new contract with the Frenchman’s representatives.
PSG were hoping that Kante would not put pen-to-paper on a new deal as that could have tempted Chelsea to cash in on him but the French international is reportedly happy at Stamford Bridge and looks set to commit his long-term future to his current employers.
