Manchester City stars Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne have both ruled out of the champions’ clash with Chelsea on Saturday evening.
Former Chelsea midfielder De Bruyne has been out for a few weeks with a hamstring issue but he was reportedly closing in on a return this weekend, but that will now no longer be the case as he’s not fit enough to take part in the game.
Aguero still hasn’t recovered from his abductor injury and as such, it will be Gabriel Jesus who’ll be tasked with leading the line for Pep Guardiola’s team.
Vincent Kompany limped out of City’s 2-1 win over Watford in midweek but he’s been declared fit for selection if called upon with Guardiola confirming that the tightness of the hamstring felt by the Belgian star was cramp, not a pull or strain.
Chelsea have the chance to close the gap between themselves and Man City to seven points if they can win the game. A loss would see City move 13 points clear of the Blues, and that will all but end Chelsea’s hopes of pushing for the title.
