Gary Cahill is set to leave Chelsea on a free transfer, with the Blues allowing the former English international to join Fulham.

According to Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider, the long serving Chelsea defender will make the switch to the Blues West London rivals on a free transfer.

Fulham intially wanted a loan deal for the defender, but were unable to due to having two loans from tother Premier League sides this season in Arsenal’s Calum Chambers and Timothy Fosu Mensah from Manchester United.

Cahill’s career at the Blues looks set to end, with the defender having a long and successful time at Stamford Bridge.

At the Blues, Cahill picked up UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League medals, whilst also winning two league titles with Chelsea.
