Chelsea transfer target Mauro Icardi will not renew his contract with Inter Milan and will instead leave the club next summer when his current deal expires, according to Calciomercato.

Icardi’s wife Wanda Nara, who is subsequently his agent, is reported to have met with Inter to discuss the player’s future, coming to the agreement that he should leave the club next summer.

Having been with the Serie A club since 2013, the forward has a 110 million euros release clause in his contract that can be triggered during the first two weeks of July.

Inter are keen to remove the release clause from Icardi’s contract in order to tie him to the club for another year.

However, the Argentinian is a hot target for both Chelsea and Real Madrid and could be subject of a big from both clubs this January or in the summer if his release clause is to remain in place.
