Be it down the pub with your mates or in the office at work, the topic of a club’s greatest ever player is one that will always divide opinion.
As generations pass, the level of appreciation for a certain player or position will change.
Earlier this week, we put the question to Chelsea supporters; who is the club’s greatest ever player?
After plenty of votes, the results are in and these are the top 10 greatest ever Chelsea players, according to supporters.
10: Ashley Cole - 27%
Arguably the best full back this country has ever produced. There may have been some controversy over his move from Arsenal, but how he repaid Chelsea over the years.
9: Jimmy Greaves - 31%
The seventh highest goalscorer in the club’s history with 132 to his name. He comes in at number nine.
8: Claude Makelele - 37%
You know what they say, if you have a position named after you, you must have been good. That he was, the Frenchman reinvented the defensive midfield role and makes this top 10.

Petr Cech ranks highly among the modern legends of the club. Playing a key role in Chelsea’s rise under Roman Abramovich, delivering the coveted Champions League trophy with a penalty masterclass in Munich.
6: Peter Osgood - 47%
Perhaps criminally undervalued by the modern generation, Peter Osgood comes in at number six, ironically, the number where he sits on the club’s list of all-time top scorers. He was one of the most potent strikers of his generation.

Eden Hazard is Chelsea’s modern day equivalent to Gianfranco Zola. A mercurial attacking talent that can leave fans mesmerised. He’s won nearly all there is to win in London and looks set for Real Madrid in the summer.

What more can you say about the man? A true legend that fans will hope to one day see back in the dugout at Stamford Bridge.
2: Didier Drogba - 84%
The man for the biggest of big occasions. He scored the club’s most famous goal in Munich and would never shy away from a cup final at Wembley. One of the best strikers that the Premier League has ever seen. Do you remember when people said Chelsea had overspent on him in 2004?
1: Frank Lampard - 87%
Super Frank. He eased his way to being voted the club’s greatest ever player this time around. Chelsea’s all-time top scorer, from midfield. A truly spectacular achievement.
