Four Findings: Manchester United 1-1 Chelsea

Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues headed into the game looking to stake their claim once again for a top-four finish, especially in light of Leicester City’s 3-0 demolition of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur’s 1-0 defeat to West Ham in earlier fixtures this weekend.

Maurizio Sarri’s men started on the back foot, though, and were a goal down after two of the club’s former players combined. Juan Mata finished after some good work from Romelu Lukaku to put United a goal ahead.

However, Chelsea responded courtesy of Marcos Alonso, who tapped home after David de Gea spilt Antonio Rudiger’s shot from long range.

The Blues were good value for their point and rode waves of United pressure in large parts of the match. They will, however, know that they must begin taking their chances if they are to book a place in next season’s Champions League.

Here are four findings from the draw.
