Managers of the Abramovich era – how have they all faired at Chelsea?

Roman Abramovich’s Chelsea have been known for their ‘hire and fire’ approach when it comes to managers and now club legend Frank Lampard is the next person to be pushed into the hot seat.

Since buying the club in 2003, managers have come and gone, with Lampard becoming the 14th appointment made by Abramovich at Stamford Bridge.

The likes of Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte have enjoyed some great periods of success at the club, while names such as Rafa Benitez and Maurizio Sarri went on to become pantomime villains.

Lampard himself would have worked under a number of these managers and will no doubt be looking to implement some of their different styles into his own time in the Chelsea dugout.

With the ex-midfielder now confirmed as Chelsea’s new boss, let’s take a look back at some of the former managers and how they have all managed at Stamford Bridge.
