Chelsea fans aren’t happy after learning club make contact over Cavani deal

Both Chelsea and Manchester United have reportedly made contact over a possible deal for Edinson Cavani.

However, the news hasn’t gone down well with a section of Blues supporters.

Recent reports from French outlet L’Equipe have suggested that the prolific striker looks destined to leave Paris Saint-Germain, and despite having a pre-contract agreement with Atletico Madrid, could make a move elsewhere this month.

Both the Blues and the Red Devils are keen to strengthen their attacking ranks over the coming weeks, and a move for Cavani now looks a possibility.

But when Chelsea fan page @TheBlues_ shared the latest update on social media on Monday, it didn’t sit well with these supporters.

Cavani has a wealth of experience at both club and international level, and the Blues could do a lot worse than the Uruguayan.

Even though he will turn 33 next month, he’d bring plenty of goalscoring know-how to Stamford Bridge, which could help Tammy Abraham develop even further in the long run.

Cavani has over 300 club goals in over 500 appearances throughout his career, 136 of which have come in Ligue 1 during his six-and-a-half-year stay in Paris.

Champions League football is also on offer in London, and the player himself could be keen on making the move to England to rival Abraham in the latter stages of his career.
