“Waste of money” – Chelsea fans unimpressed at recent Isco links

Chelsea have recently been linked with a move for Real Madrid midfielder Isco.

However, the rumours haven’t sat well with plenty of Blues fans.

According to Spanish outlet El Desmarque, relayed in an article by Sports Witness, Chelsea have held discussions with the player’s agent over a possible Stamford Bridge move.

The same report claims that the Blues are willing to pay up to €55 million (£47m) for the 27-year-old.

Chelsea fan page @TheBlues_ took to Twitter to share the update on Tuesday afternoon, which led to these supporters sharing their frustration at the links.

We’re leaning towards agreeing with these Blues fans in believing a move for Isco would be a bad move.

The latest report claims that the midfielder is ‘expected’ to receive more game time between now and the end of the season, so we feel like Chelsea could be chasing a lost cause if the latest rumours are true.

Frank Lampard has openly admitted that he is keen to bolster his attacking options this month, and we feel as if a move for a striker would be more beneficial to the Blues.

Reports from Sky Sport Italia, cited by the Daily Mail, have claimed that Olivier Giroud will undergo a medical with Inter Milan this weekend, which would leave Lampard with just Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi as the senior striker options.

In our opinion, Chelsea are well-stocked in midfield, so a striker, in our eyes, should be the priority over a move for Isco.
