Chelsea v Arsenal: Combined XI

The relentless Premier League schedule continues as Chelsea host their London rivals Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of their women’s team, as Chelsea thumped Arsenal 4-1 on Sunday in the Women’s Super League

But still, morale will be low in the Chelsea camp, as a 94th-minute header from Isaac Hayden broke Chelsea hearts at St James’ Park as they slumped to a 1-0 defeat.

Despite this, Chelsea still sit five points clear of fifth, ten points ahead of Arsenal, who are in tenth.

This makes grim reading for Arsenal, as instability on and off the pitch has caused disarray at the club. However, the arrival of Mikel Arteta has rejuvenated the club and Arsenal already look a much more confident side.

Unbeaten in their last five away games in the league, Arsenal need a win to claw themselves up the table and back into contention for Europe.

Chelsea on the other hand, will want to hammer home their superiority and widen the gap between them and the rest of the teams vying for fourth place.

Meetings between these sides rarely disappoint, but for the reasons mentioned above, this game has a lot on the line and promises to be a blockbuster.

Here is our combined XI between the two sides…
