Chelsea host Liverpool at Stamford Bridge this evening in a rare mid-week FA Cup tie.
This heavyweight fifth-round fixture is courtesy of the Blues beating Hull City 2-1 and Liverpool’s very young side seeing off Shrewsbury Town 1-0 in an Anfield replay.
The Reds come into this game after receiving their first loss in the league, as they fell 3-0 to Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday evening.
However, this may well spell danger for Chelsea, as now there’s now pressure off of Liverpool and the FA Cup presents another excellent opportunity for the Reds to display their dominance.
On top of that, Chelsea come into this fixture in a disappointing run of form.
The Blues were played off the park by Bayern Munich in the Champions League and a poor performance in a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth last weekend hasn’t helped in raising morale in the Chelsea camp.
Yet, this is the FA Cup and this game promises to be an exciting tie as both teams will more than likely look to be aggressive and positive.
