Chelsea poised to land Werner

Chelsea are all but ready to sign German international Timo Werner from RB Leipzig in a £53 million move.

The Daily Mail are reporting that Chelsea have beaten Liverpool to the signature of Werner, with the Merseyside club going cold in terms of contact with the Bundesliga side for the striker.

The report goes on to add that Werner has already accepted a deal offered by the West London club, a five-year deal that will see him earn £200,000-a-week

The release clause in Werner’s contract had to be triggered by June 15th and it looks like Chelsea are ready to pay what it takes to get the German star.

Chelsea now seem to be spending the funds which came about when they sold Belgian international Eden Hazard to Spanish giants Real Madrid, and now that the transfer ban has been lifted, the Blues look ready to spend.
