Chelsea are reportedly ready to splash some more cash during this transfer window, with Declan Rice of West Ham being of interest.

It is thought that the club will have to spend around £80 million to get Rice across London to Stamford Bridge, a fee which could take the club’s spending to over £250million in one transfer window.

Defensive midfield is one area in which Chelsea are yet to strengthen in the window but they have been monitoring Rice throughout the transfer period. However, West Ham have apparently made it clear that any suitors will have to spend big money to take the England international from them, which Chelsea seem open to.

Chelsea fans could be in for a treat if this deal happens as Rice has shown glimpses of quality in his career and he is only 21-years-old, meaning he could be a very big player for them for years to come.

However, should Rice sign, then questions will likely be raised about the future of N’Golo Kante, who could look to make a move away from Stamford Bridge to make room for Rice.
