Marc Guiu weighs three Chelsea exits as Napoli push for deal

Marc Guiu is weighing up three potential Chelsea exits as Napoli step up their interest in signing the striker before the transfer window closes.

The 20-year-old’s departure from Stamford Bridge is moving closer after Chelsea left him without a squad number for the 2026/27 season.

There is now greater clarity over where he could go, with clubs from Italy, Spain and Germany interested and Napoli exploring a permanent transfer.

The Evening Standard reports Guiu is currently assessing three different options as Chelsea attempt to resolve his future before the September 1 deadline.

Napoli push for Marc Guiu transfer

Napoli have emerged as one of the most serious options.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Serie A champions have opened contact over Guiu and could attempt to sign him permanently as an investment.

The Italian club are considering several forwards, but Guiu’s age and potential make him an attractive alternative to more expensive targets.

Matteo Moretto has also confirmed Napoli are monitoring the Chelsea striker, while Sevilla are interested as Guiu searches for regular first-team football.

Chelsea’s position has been clear for several weeks.

ReadChelsea previously reported that the Blues are willing to sanction either a loan or permanent transfer and have quoted interested clubs around £25million for Guiu. ReadChelsea’s previous Marc Guiu transfer report

A sale at that price would represent a considerable profit on the fee Chelsea paid Barcelona in 2024.

Chelsea squad decision pointed towards Guiu exit

The strongest indication of Guiu’s position arrived when Chelsea confirmed their squad numbers for the new season.

João Pedro took the No.9 shirt, Liam Delap moved to No.12 and Nicolas Jackson retained No.15, while Danny Welbeck and Emmanuel Emegha were also handed numbers.

Guiu was omitted entirely.

Chelsea’s official squad-number announcement confirmed the new hierarchy without listing the Spanish striker among Alonso’s numbered first-team players. Chelsea’s confirmed 2026/27 squad numbers

That strengthened the expectation that he would leave before the deadline, which ReadChelsea highlighted when the squad list was released.

Competition for attacking minutes has only increased following Chelsea’s summer recruitment.

João Pedro remains Alonso’s leading centre-forward and has now signed a new long-term contract, while Welbeck and Emegha provide further options.

Guiu therefore needs a move which offers something Chelsea currently cannot guarantee: regular football.

Chelsea now need the right Guiu solution

The important development is no longer whether Guiu could leave.

It is which deal Chelsea choose.

A loan would allow the Blues to retain control over a highly rated 20-year-old, but a permanent offer approaching their reported £25m valuation would force a more difficult decision.

Napoli’s willingness to discuss a permanent move therefore gives Chelsea a potentially valuable option.

With Guiu now considering several destinations, his Stamford Bridge future appears considerably closer to being resolved.
