Reports circulating around Europe have suggested that Chelsea could be set to sign one of the most talented young players in Europe, Danilo Pantic. Aged 18, Pantic is a young central midfielder with an eye for goal.
Chelsea is not the only club that have been monitoring the development of the young Serbian midfielder. Currently playing Partizan Belgrade, he recently rejected a move to Italian giants Juventus in 2014. Pantic’s contract with the Serbian side it set to expire at the end of the season and Partizan are thought to be keen to cash in now. A reported fee is thought to be anywhere between £1-2 million.
Pantic has represented Serbia at youth level and currently captains the Under 19 side. He made his debut for the Partizan at the age of just 16. Since then he has made eighteen first team appearances, scoring two goals in the process. Premier League fans may recognize the name after he featured against Tottenham in the Europa League this season.
It is thought Pantic would struggle to tie down a work permit in any deal that took place in the summer. Because of this, Chelsea are thought to be eager to strike a deal in January and find a suitable to loan move for the Serbian to aid his development. With Pantic unlikely to be involved in the Senior squad for a number of years it is likely he could be loaned to affiliate club Vitesse Arnhem.
