John Terry has easily been Chelsea Football Club’s most successful captain. However, as time wears on and as other Chelsea icons such as Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole part ways, the question must be asked: is it time for John Terry to move on as well?
The former England skipper has been exceptional since José Mourinho’s highly anticipated return to the club. On the topic of Terry’s future, the Portuguese had this to say: “There are no doubts that he is going to get another contract. I know that, he knows that. He’s a very important player so the next contract sooner or later will come. It’s a formality.”
Terry is much more confident than he was last season when it came down to being offered a new contract: “Last year I was a bit nervous and knocking on the door myself. But I know their position and they know mine. I want to stay. Hopefully, my displays are showing that and they want to keep me.”
John Terry, like a fine wine, seems to just be getting better with age. It is almost one-hundred percent likely that the decorated Englishman will put pen to paper and remain Chelsea captain for yet another season.
