Not even a week ago, Eden Hazard was lifting his first domestic trophy since the Belgian arrived to Stamford Bridge in 2012. Now, the winger has had more success, and aiming for even more. Hazard, who is normally named in Chelsea’s starting XI, played 90 minutes at Wembley and now has been named as Player of the Year at the London Football Awards on Thursday night.
In his 40 starts that Jose Mourinho has given him, Eden Hazard has given back 14 goals this campaign. His most recent goal came in the 0-1 win at West Ham which helped Chelsea maintain their 5 point gap at the top of the league.
The ex- Lille winger has learnt a lot since arriving at Stamford Bridge and last season was named both the PFA Young Player of the Year and Chelsea’s Player of the Year by the club’s supporters. He finished the 2013/14 season as Chelsea leading goal-scorer, something which was needed as they were playing without a striker for the majority of the season.
Furthermore, Courtois won his 2nd piece of silverware since joining Chelsea as he bagged Goalkeeper of the Year at the LFA’s. Finally, Chelsea’s ladies star Ji So-Yun also own women’s player of the year.
