Reports from The Daily Mail have linked Chelsea with a move for Everton defender, John Stones. The English defender has established himself within the Everton first team this season and is finishing the Premier League season strongly under Roberto Martinez.
Despite signing a new contract just last year, Stones’ impressive performances have not gone unnoticed. He is also reportedly a target for Manchester City as they look to revamp their squad. Stones could be identified as a possible replacement for the ageing John Terry and a possible long term defensive partner for either Gary Cahill or Kurt Zouma.
Here is how Stones compares to both Gary Cahill (Blue) and John Terry (Orange) statistically this season according to Squawka.
Everton are believed to be under no pressure to sell the England international, however a bid within the region of £20m could be enough to tempt Roberto Martinez to cash in on the twenty year old, according to reports. A move for Stones would also help Chelsea add home grown talent to their squad.
