Chelsea left back Filipe Luis hasn’t exactly settled in at the club in his first season. This is mostly due to the fact that Jose Mourinho has opted to play Branislav Ivanovic at right back, and natural right back Cesar Azpilicueta at left back. Filipe has only had a handful of opportunities in his first season as a Blue, and it has fuelled talk that Atletico Madrid may be interested in bringing him back to the Spanish capital. Chelsea may even be intrigued by the prospect of using Luis as a make weight in a move for Atletico’s Antoine Greizmann, who has also been heavily linked to a west London move.
However, it appears that Inter Milan have jumped into the fray, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. Roberto Mancini, former Manchester City manager, has guided the Milanese club to Europa League football next season.
Many are saying that Mancini is looking to spearhead a huge rebuilding job at Inter Milan in order to return them to the status of being known as one of Europe’s top clubs. Filipe Luis is apparently one of his targets, and could give Diego Simeone a huge problem if a bidding war were to ensue.
