The most recent Africa Cup of Nations player of the tournament Christian Atsu has joined AFC Bournemouth on a season long loan subject to Premier League approval.
Atsu spent last season on loan at Everton – where it’s fair to say he struggled to get game time, and was unlucky with the opportunities he did receive.
The Ghanaian winger can offer a lot to Bournemouth with his pace and trickery, and add extra quality to the newly-promoted team. Operating as a right winger, Atsu is also versatile and has played all 4 attacking positions, and also spent a while as a central midfielder while at Vitesse Arnhem.
The swift movement from both sides will be beneficial, as Atsu will now have pre-season to grow with Bournemouth and showcase his skills in those matches, hopefully earning himself a first team position before the season begins.
