According to Vitesse head coach Peter Bosz, Jose Mourinho is extremely keen on including 19-year-old Bertrand Traore in his first-team squad next season, after an impressive season on loan in the Eredivisie.
Traore scored 14 goals and created five assists in an impressive season at the Chelsea-linked Dutch side, helping Vitesse qualify for the Europa League.
After spending pre-season with the Blues in 2013, Mourinho called the 19-year-old “one of the best talents of his age,” however work permit issues forced Chelsea to send the Burkina Faso international on loan.
And despite Traore already playing international football, tighter FA laws, that come into place this summer, may further prevent the youngster from earning a work permit.
However, Bosz spoke of Mourinho’s desire to bring him to the club, should he earn a work permit.
“Jose Mourinho is crazy about him. If the opportunity is there, they prefer to take him back.“
And Traore himself said should the opportunity arise, he wouldn’t be afraid to show what he’s capable of at Stamford Bridge.
“I’m ready when the opportunity comes and I’m not afraid to show my ability at Chelsea. This has been the first time I have played a full season in professional football. I’ve taken a huge step forward physically.“
It seems as though Bosz is equally as impressed by the youngster, stating that Vitesse would like him to return to the club next season, although Traore did not comment on his future when asked earlier this week.
