A report from Gianluca Di Marzio has indicated that Inter Milan are interested in Chelsea loanee Mario Pašalić. The 20-year-old Croatian midfielder, who spent the 2014 season on loan in Spain with Elche, recorded three goals in 31 appearances in 2014/15.
According to Di Marzio, Inter manager Roberto Mancini is looking to strengthen his side in order to compete for silverware in the upcoming campaign. The Milan club are currently monitoring Pašalić, who was signed by Chelsea for a reported fee of £3 million in early July last year and loaned out to Elche just two weeks later.
Inter Milan are coming off a 2014/15 campaign in which they finished eighth in the Serie A table, 32 points below Scudetto winners Juventus at the top of the league. Since finishing second in the Italian top flight in 2010/11, Inter have placed sixth, ninth and eighth in the last three seasons, respectively.
