Chelsea shot stopper Thibaut Courtois has backed the imminent arrival of Radamel Falcao at Chelsea. Falcao has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge following the departure of Didier Drogba, alongside Manchester United not taking up the option to buy the forward. The pair were once team-mates at Atletico Madrid. Falcao also linked up with Diego Costa during his time in Spain, the pair scored a combined 54 goals in all competitions during the 2012-13 season.
According to the Guardian, Courtois said: “I know Falcao very well. He’s a very good boy, he’s a good friend of mine so if he comes, great. It’s the decision of the club but he would be a very good player for Chelsea.”
The quotes from Courtois come just days after Jose Mourinho revealed his interest in the striker by revealing to DirecTV: “If I can help Falcao reach his level again, I will do it. It hurts me that people in England think that the real Falcao is the one we saw at Manchester United. He is a great player. I don’t do the negotiations. I just tell my board, my club, the players that I am interested in, the price, what I like. And we will see what happens.”
Not only would the proposed move see him link up with former team-mates, but also Colombian team-mate, Juan Cuadrado. How could that affect his form? Do you think Falcao could be a success at Chelsea?
