James Olley of the Evening Standard is reporting that Chelsea have a battle on their hands if they want to keep goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois this summer. Real Madrid are targeting the Belgian international along with Man Utd’s David De Gea. Courtois wants to move to Real Madrid or FC Barcelona in the future but fears missing out if Madrid manage to secure the signature of De Gea.
However, it must also be noted that the ‘keeper is currently content at Chelsea and will not force a move away. But it thought that his representatives are speaking to Los Blancos to see if they would be interested in signing him. Chelsea have responded by demanding £73 million for the player.
Chelsea will be confident of holding on to Courtois as he signed a five year deal last September. With Petr Cech set to leave this summer, the Blues will want to make sure Courtois’ head isn’t turned by the Spanish capital.
